Dr. Peggy Buffington, Superintendent, will welcome Greg Crouch, media teacher at Hobart High School, and one of his students, Kyle Rader.
Kyle Rader, was nominated as one of two finalists for the Drive Safe Chicago PSA contest for 2021. Both finalists worked virtually with an Emmy-winning director from New York to produce the scripts and bring their ideas to life. Kyle, also worked alongside classmate Leila Castro during the zoom sessions with the New York Director. With Leila operating the camera and Kyle directing, the New York director was very pleased and impressed with the quality produced by these high school students.
Through the entire month of May voting occurred to determine which of the two finalists would be declared the winner. May 27th was the last day of voting and at last count Kyle won with a 918 to 547 victory. Kyle will earn a $2,000 prize as well as having his PSA aired on the syndicated TV program, Teen Kids News, which airs on more than 160 TV stations nationwide.
Certificates of Recognition will be presented to Kyle and Mr. Crouch.
