Summary:

Dr. Buffington, Superintendent, will highlight the Alternative Education Grant that Debbie Matthys, Director of Social Emotional Learning, submitted for the 2020-2021 school year. Our alternative education program is Aspire at Hobart High School. The FTE disbursement was for the full amount of $750.00. Attached is a letter from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) pertaining to the grant.
Due to COVID-19, the 2019-2020 Alternative Grant was not accepted by the Board. Attached is a letter from the IDOE about the grant process and an email from the school corporation's treasurer as to the amount of monies that the school district received from the Alternative Education Grant for 2019-2020, which was $12,160.00.
Our alternative education program is for students who are not achieving in a traditional setting and are given strategies and extra assistance to do well academically and behaviorally. We are providing services to the students to assist them to be successful.
