Summary:

Dr. Peggy Buffington, Superintendent, Mike Black, and Don Rogers met to work on the official name to be used for the naming of the track. The Board approved the naming of the track after Coach JJ Johnston at the January 21, 2021 meeting. The official name, after much research of other track facilities who are named after individuals, will be James T. "JJ" Johnston, Sr. Track.
