Summary:
|
Dr. Buffington, Superintendent, will present and recommend approval for JROTC cadets to attend the 2020 (Covid-2021) National Raider High School Championship in Molena, GA. It will be a fitness and adventure Raider competition. The cadets will travel in a contracted bus, and the departure date would be on February 25, and the cadets would return on March 1, 2021. There will be 16 cadets in grades 9-12 attending the competition, and there will be no cost for the cadets. Their lodging and meals will be paid from JROTC fundraising and/or funds from the US Army.
The Georgia Army National Guard has completed a mandatory safety assessment survey and considers the Raider event a low risk to cadets. Instructors will always be present, and Covid restrictions are in effect throughout the competition and competitive area.
Board approval is requested for the overnight student trip for the JROTC.
