The Patriot's Pen Essay Contest is for middle school students, and the Voice of Democracy Contest is for high school students and are voice recorded speeches. Jake Paulson from the VFW will be present to speak about the two contests. The student essays are attached, and certificates of recognition will be presented to them and the VFW. We are proud of these students and extend our congratulations to them.

Their essays are excellent and will be read at the Board meeting. The winners from the middle school for the Patriot Pen Essay Contest are as follows: First Place - Shu Jing Zheng, Second Place - Delaney Williams, and Third Place - Daniel Lahaie. The winners from the high school for the Voice of Democracy Contest are as follows: First Place - Emma Ramirez; Second Place - Jim Lahaie; and Third Place - Emily Neuenfeld.

In the past, every school has honored our veterans on Veterans Day with special in-person celebrations, but that was not the case the past two years due to COVID-19 and out of safety for those veterans who attend the ceremonies every year. As a small thank you honoring the men and women who have served or are still fighting for our country, all schools posted videos on Veterans Day, November 11. In addition, the middle school winners read their speeches at the annual Veterans Ceremony held Veterans Park.
