Summary:
|
Dr. Buffington, Superintendent, will highlight the 2024 Teacher Appreciation Grant and ask the Board to authorize her to distribute the 2024 Teacher Appreciation Grant. The total 2024 grant is $147,235.08. $17,521.00 of the grant will be distributed to the Northwest Indiana Education Coop leaving a balance of $129,714.08 to pay eligible staff and the employer costs of FICA and TERF. Highly effective teachers will receive $583.22 and effective teachers $466.58. The law requires that highly effective teachers must receive at least 25% more than effective teachers, and the teachers need to currently be employed by the district and must have worked 120 days.
